The restaurant was clean, the food was freshly prepared (we had to wait a few minutes, but so worth it) and although we picked it up practically around midnight, everything was spot on - our order was correct and the food tasted FANTASTIC!!! Any time I'm in Philadelphia, this halal joint is going to be my go to!!!!

If craving that saucy, incredible, crisp on the outside, molten on the inside General Tso's chicken, as a takeout, then Tang's is where it's at. That's from my personal experience. Down to earth service and pricing combined with stratospheric quality. From what I hear, it's also the place to get your Kung Pao, sesame, Hunan and Szechuan style chicken/beef/shrimp and various kinds of lo meins too. The restaurant has excellent aggregate ratings from close to two hundred reviews on various platforms. I asked the employee at the counter what the magic behind this is and she said the main chef puts his heart and soul into the creations; works hard and they're an incredibly soft spoken and humble family and employer. I noted the pictures of menu on Yelp were difficult to read....in the interest of the community and out of gratitude to Tang's, I'll humbly provide menu pics that are hopefully readable. COVID-19 related: No indoor dining, takeout only. Employees masked appropriately. Social distancing reminders present at the establishment. Convenience related: Parking was an issue. I ordered in phone and drove around the block 3 times before I got a parking and food was ready to be picked up in 5 minutes thereafter. 'Twas my first time in the the neighborhood which had a run down feel I sensed. The stellar reviews being my North Star, I did not let the environment deter me.

This is a small restaurant so space is limited preCovid no dining in. The restaurant is clean and you can see the cook. I love to watch them make my food. I've been here several times since moving to Brewerytown and I love it. The meat and vegetables are fresh so that's a plus for sure. My food is hot whether I order and pickup or have it delivered. There's never a lot of people inside and that's great considering the times we live in. The lady that takes the order is very professional and keeps you updated on your order. Every time I pickup she's there so I like to give her a tip because she deserves it probably more. Overall I come here for authentic Chinese food and if you're like me and you want tasty, quality and presentation of food is important than this is the place for you. Btw the prices are not high at all.

For being a relatively new spot and a halal one at that, tangs place was very clean and the people there are super nice. As for the food, we ordered the chicken and broccoli, sesame chicken and veg lo mein. The chicken had a very distinct taste that I was not keen on. Overall the chicken and broccoli was lacking depth. The sesame chicken, on the other hand, was a winner! Taste, texture and the whole nine. The veg lo mein was a little soft and overcooked for our liking. The food and everything considered, the review should be a 3, but I believe in the owner and this restaurant and can see them tweaking their recipes to perfection. I believe in Tangs! Halal chinese is a rarity and I hope they prosper.

My first time ever having Halal Chinese food and I definitely enjoyed it! The employees were nice and food didn't take long to cook. I places my order over the phone and they called me when it was ready. I ordered the Hunan Double delight with chicken, shrimp, and vegetables that came with a side if white rice. I also ordered a side of wings. I was able to pick the level of spice I wanted and I picked level 3/4. I love spicy food and it actually did taste spicy. Many Chinese take outs claim their food is spicy and it never tastes anything close to spicy. The wings were perfectly crispy and seasoned well.
